Intro to Hector and the Fairy Godbear
Hi! I’m Hector. My parents call me the Hs because I’m Hector Harmon, and my names start with Hs. This is the story of my fairy godbear. I wanted a fairy godmother because I wanted to her to grant my wishes, but I didn’t get wishes because I got a fairy godbear and he didn’t grant wishes. He tried to eat me. And I said, ‘Mr. Bear, don’t eat me!’ But he didn’t listen, because he was a bear.
You just can’t talk to bears. They’re very frustrating.
Conte
The problem with conte is you need significantly more stuff to draw with it, at least if you want to take advantage of the advantages.
Conte blends really well. You can get gradations in color that are near impossible with charcoal or pencil. To do that, you need at least one blending thing, two is better: one for putting on and one for taking off, as well as some kind of cloth, possibly another cloth if you don’t want it on your fingers, something to sharpen your blenders, and if you need different tips, you need different blenders. You run into carrying a small kit. This utterly neglects erasing.
My pencil drawing kit is a mech. pencil, eraser, and paper. Sometimes I’ll throw a 6B graphite stick in a case, but that’s it.

In my head, Mt Sopris is the Lonely Mountain. The west peak is where the watchtower is, and Carbondale is Dale.

This is the northern half of the goblinlands. The Arsae and the goblinmounts, including Bloodharvest, are to the south and not included. The Doon plateau is the mountains on the west, and the Fhysay is the endless ocean to the north. The Dawn Sea or Thain Sea is the ocean to the east.
Names
The original ‘Scat Pack’ cars were named after scat’s also original slang meaning: to leave quickly. This was common in fifties and sixties movies: someone yelling scat at someone else, or a cat, to induce the other to leave. So the scat pack cars were there to leave quickly, ie go fast, which is pretty much what sports cars do.
I think that meaning is almost entirely gone, but the name remains. Meh. Linguistic evolution.
