Commoditization of the airlines is just killing them, and they absolutely will not fix it.

I can’t go online and buy a seat with given width and pitch. I can’t get a ticket that confirms I will have an armrest.

Since there’s nothing I can choose other than price and times, why wouldn’t I go for the cheapest tickets within in a given set of times?
