Rejection Letters

I finished a job search recently, one that ended without a job. That wound up being for the best, as I quite like my current situation. However, I distinctly recall the endless series of applications and queries, ending usually in silence. That was not fun.

Coming to the end of the other side now, I understand the silence. Writing a few dozen rejection letters a day is a deeply unpleasant process, and its mere necessity is no balm.

I don’t think the silence is right, but I do get it. My delve into this was mild, and for HR people who might have to do it for a living, I have deep sympathy.
