Stakes

One good thing about sports is the way they teach you to handle high stakes. A championship game is a high-stake affair, at least for the people playing. One rarely gets to championships if one doesn’t care. There’s no reason to panic and no reason to stop caring. One shouldn’t diminish the effort involved, nor allow it to overwhelm. It isn’t easy, but it isn’t impossible. It’s just a high-stakes event.
